Not too long ago, migrating to Spain required a lot of money and strict eligibility requirements from Filipino aspirants. However, the opportunity to move and live in Spain is now easily attainable for digital nomads!
You want to make sure you are eligible to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) before moving forward. You need to:
The first question to answer is: Do you qualify as a digital nomad? To be one, the keyword to take note of is remote. If you are an employee, a freelancer, or a self-employed professional working remotely, then the answer is yes, you can qualify as a digital nomad.
Under this qualification, you need to also make sure that you, at least, have:
Make sure that your job is explicitly remote, as they will be asked to provide certification that allows you to work remotely from Spain.
Next to check is your finances. Below are tables and figures to help you determine if you meet the minimum income requirement.
Another thing to consider is the location of where you are going to apply for a visa, as this will greatly affect the minimum income required. Filipinos can apply in the Philippines or Spain.
Below are the minimum gross annual income requirement differences based on where you will apply:

Take note that these rates apply only to the main or sole (DNV) applicants. There will be additional requirements if the qualified main applicant wants to include family in their application.
You need to prove that you have had no criminal records for the past two (2) years, covering all the places you lived, whether locally or abroad.
In the PH, you need to obtain an apostilled NBI Clearance. If you lived abroad in the last couple of years, make sure you obtain a similar certification that proves you have a clean criminal record.

Get your Spain Digital Nomad Visa from anywhere in the world:
a.Must show that you have been with the company for at least three (3) months
b.Certification from the employer permitting you to work remotely in Spain.
a. Copy of the SEC Certificate of Incorporation or Certificate of Good Standing if it’s a foreign company
Here is the information you need to understand and prepare as well about Spain’s social security and taxes.
a. Proof of your employment company’s registration with Spain’s social security system. The company, after having registered, must then register you after you obtain your Digital Nomad Visa.
When you apply for a Digital Nomad Visa, you can also include immediate family as your ward.
To be able to bring family with you, you need to meet the income requirement added per individual.

You also need to prepare similar documents applicable to those who will be under your charge when you apply for DNV.
Be ready also for the fees you need to cover as you prepare for these certifications and documents. You may check out the respective government agencies for these fees.
The visa fee in the Philippines for adults and children is ₱10,000++ per person. If applying in Spain, it’s €73.26. These are subject to change based on the current exchange rate and are nonrefundable.
Finally, you are ready to apply! You can do this in Spain or the Philippines.
If you are applying in Spain, this means you have an existing Schengen tourist visa. You may then submit your requirements through the UGE.
The application may take about 20 working days. For cases where the application days may exceed the number of days allowed in your Schengen tourist visa, as long as you already submitted your DNV application through the UGE, it’s considered legal to stay in Spain.
Upon doing so, you will get residence authorization allowing you to stay in Spain for three (3) years. Upon approval, renewal will happen every two (2) years.
If you are applying in the Philippines, submit your requirements through the consulate or BLS. The application may take about 10 working days, at least, but in some cases, it may take a month. Upon approval, you will get a visa valid for one year.
For a year, you can live in Spain. You can apply for residence authorization on arrival or within 60 days before your visa expires. Upon approval, you’ll be allowed to stay for another 3 years, and as mentioned before, renewal will happen every 2 years.
