Madrid, August 7, 2026 — Lakbyte is sharing an update on a newer processing pattern observed across some recent Spain Digital Nomad Visa applications.

Main applicants and dependents are reaching administrative silence together

As of August 7, 2026, Lakbyte is seeing some cases where main applicants and their dependents are reaching administrative silence at the same time.

This currently includes all 11 applications submitted on July 7, 8, and 9. Lakbyte has already contacted clients who are still waiting and has followed up with the UGE regarding these applications.

This differs from the pattern seen in recent months

Previously, the more common pattern was for the main applicant to receive a resolution first, while dependent applications remained pending and, in most cases, later reached positive administrative silence. Administrative silence had therefore been appearing more frequently among dependents than main applicants. Lakbyte has also recorded cases where main applicants reached administrative silence, although historically this occurred less frequently.

Recent DNV approval timelines

Based on Lakbyte’s recent approvals, the approximate timelines currently being observed are:

• Main applicants: about four weeks, or approximately 15–20 working days
• Dependents: about seven to eight weeks, or approximately two to four weeks after the main applicant’s approval

Dependent applications may continue beyond the main applicant’s timeline, and recent case tracking has shown the UGE taking close to the full resolution period in a number of applications.
